What's the point of dressing our deities? If this was a necessary practice, wouldn’t our ancestors have started it long ago? Are we approaching this the right way?

**Akbar in Solar Reverence**
*1605 CE*
This Mughal painting captures Emperor Akbar in a moment of prayer to the Sun. It is housed at the Indian Museum in Kolkata and is believed to have been created around 1580, during a period when Akbar engaged with Jesuit priests and had his artists emulate Bible illustrations.
The painting's Persian inscription reads, "The king faces the sun's radiance. No luminary matches the sun's brilliance."

Copper deposits can be found in the central, eastern, and western parts of India, while the south is rich in iron ore. This geography naturally allowed southern India to pioneer Iron Age in the world.
As a country, we can be proud of the fact that our Iron Age preceded the world's Bronze Age. However, at thw same time, it's crucial to recognize that this doesn’t place southern India ahead of other regions, as every part of India has played a role in shaping our nation, "Bharat."
Let's move past the notion of a North-South divide.
P.S. The map on pmfias.com doesn't accurately represent India.
Did @ncert mention that the Ahom ruler Chakradhwaj Singh of Assam fiercely defeated the Turkish Khilji invaders around 1206 CE?
This historical event is documented in Sanskrit on the Kanai Barsai stone inscription.
Sukaphaa, the Tai group's leader, and his 9000 followers founded the Ahom kingdom (1228-1826 CE), which ruled over much of the Brahmaputra Valley in modern Assam until 1826
Do you know why Banjara or Gypsies had bulls and bullockcarts ?
The Banjara community once ran a thriving logistics network, moving goods across India and beyond—from Surat to Hormuz, and Trebizond to Mongolia, long before trains existed.
They set up depots like modern warehouses, where some stayed safe while others traveled onward.
Sadly, the rise of railways and modern transport has shifted Banjaras to making iron tools for a living.

A depiction, thought to illustrate a Chinese voyager, adorns the walls of the Vaikuntha Perumal Temple in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu Constructed in the 8th century by the Pallava ruler Nandivarman II, the Vaikuntha Perumal Temple, also called Tiru Parameswara Vinnagaram, is devoted to Lord Vishnu and counts among the 108 Divya Desams.
This carving is situated on the front porch walls. Some academics propose that it may portray Xuanzang, the famed Chinese Buddhist monk, explorer, and translator, who is said to have journeyed to Kanchi.
The walls of the temple also feature reliefs showing Nandivarman’s ascension to the throne and figures bearing Cambodian characteristics. Kanchipuram, famously abundant with temples, served as a hub of importance historically, often visited by Buddhist intellectuals.
